HUBE's Principal Investigator is Professor Richard Conn Henry

In April 1996, HUBE was selected as NASA's Alternate to MAP,
(now WMAP - in honor of the late Dave Wilkinson), while

in the year 2001, HUBE had the good fortune to become a component of
the highly-rated Baryonic Extragalactic Structure Tracer (BEST) MIDEX proposal,
with Dr. Wilton T. Sanders as Principal Investigator.

In 2003, HUBE once again was a candidate NASA SMEX Mission.
But, on 2003 November 4, NASA announced the selection, which, sad to say, did not include HUBE.
