(go to the Thomas Henry web page)

Thomas Henry, a southern Ontario (Canada), minister and active participant in the development of early Port Oshawa, moved his family into this stone house in 1850 where he lived until his death in 1879. The home remained in the Henry family until 1920 at which time the house and land were purchased by R. Samuel and George McLaughlin. They in turn sold the property to the town for $1. Henry House is portrayed as a period home typical of the lifestyles and customs of the Henry Family from the 1850's to the 1890's.
